Occasionally, you may find a document that has color (like a Word doc or Excel spreadsheet) loses its color when you convert it to PDF.
After you ensure that you are not printing to PDF as black & white, check this setting in Adobe:
Go to Edit --> Preferences --> Accessibility, and make sure "Replace document colors" is NOT checked. This setting would treat all light colors as white or no color.
