Docking Station Not Working

Modified on Thu, Feb 15 at 2:11 PM

Occasionally, you might find that your Dell docking station is not working.  It might appear to have no power, or is not providing power to your laptop when plugged in.

First, verify power to the docking station and try plugging into another wall outlet or power strip to rule out an issue with a specific outlet.

If it still does not start working, follow these steps below to perform a full dock reset:

  1. Disconnect the USB-C cable from the computer.
  2. Unplug the AC power from the WD19 series dock.
  3. Drain any remaining power to the docking station by holding the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Connect the AC power to the docking station.
  5. The docking station LED on the power button blinks three (3) times.
  6. Connect the USB-C cable to the computer.

If your docking station is still not functional, please contact the Service Desk.
