Monitors Not Turning On

Modified on Tue, Jun 20, 2023 at 10:48 AM

Whether you work in the office or at a remote location, your laptop computer might experience trouble connecting to the monitor(s) on your desk.

Assuming you have a docking station and the monitors are plugged into it, please check/try the following:

  • Is the white light on the top of the end of the docking station cable (the end that plugs into the side of your laptop) illumined?  If not, unplug it and plug it back into your computer.  If still no light, verify that your docking station's power cord is securely plugged in on both ends.
  • Are the display or HDMI cables between each monitor and the dock securely plugged in?
  • Have you restarted your computer?
  • If the screens still do not turn on, shut down your computer completely and unplug from the docking station.  Unplug the power cable from the docking station for ten seconds, then plug everything back in and turn your laptop back on.

If the issue persists, please contact the Service Desk.
