Microsoft Intune Alert - Cell phone is out of compliance

Modified on Fri, Sep 15, 2023 at 4:50 PM

There may be an occasion when you receive an email from Microsoft like the one shown below:

Attention Required: Device compliance violation

Your device is no longer in compliance with your organizations policies. Please review your device settings and keep your phone up to date.
Please contact your IT Service Desk if you have any questions...

Device Details:

OS version: (your phone's OS version)
Model: (the model of your phone)
Serial number: (your phone's serial number)
Device name: (your phone's name)

To remedy this, please ensure that your cell phone is in compliance with the FMHC company standards for mobile devices.  One of the common causes is that your phone may not have a PIN set to unlock it.  If you do already have a PIN set, please ensure that it meets the following requirements:

If your PIN does meet these requirements, please contact the IT Service Desk or Information Security for further assistance.  This alert could be a false positive / sent to you in error, but if you continue receiving the alert, IT/IS should be able to determine the cause for you so that the issue can be resolved.

IT: If the Intune Admin portal does not specify the exact reason for the compliance violation, it might be worth having the user unenroll from Intune and re-enroll their cell phone.
